It makes no difference whether you use a blender, food processor or baby grinder. The advantage of the baby grinder is that you can make smaller portions at a time without losing lots of food to the nooks and crannies below the blades, or without having to constantly scrape down the sides.
At five months, all of your baby's food will need to be pureed. You will need to experiment a little to get the proper proportion of liquid to solid to make the food a consistency that your baby can handle. Foods that are stringy or have skins (like the peas or beans) will need to be strained after pureeing until your baby is about six or eight months old. To strain the food, push the food through a mesh screen strainer using a rubber spatula.
