Being a new homeschooler, I wanted to learn as much as I could about homeschooling, laws and curriculum before I actually got started. Even though there are local groups, the amount of information I needed just wasn't available quickly enough. There are so many more people here who've tried almost every curriculum out there. This is a great resource for reviews from real people that help me decide if I want to try new material. It's wonderful to know you're not alone.
I've only been frequenting the Homeschooling Board for about a month, but am totally hooked. I find myself feeling incomplete if I don't check in at least once a day and am so appreciative of all the input and recommendations available along with the incredible support. This is a great resource for new and veteran homeschoolers alike, and I look forward to being part of this community for years to come.
I love to read everyone's homeschooling journeys and add my bit when I think it's worthwhile. I've gotten more ideas about curricula, books, links and how to deal with cabin fever than I could have hoped for. If I have a question about anything, homeschooling or otherwise, I know I can post it here and get support, answers and some very comforting 'been there, done that' advice.
I honestly can't put into words how this board has helped me, there were so many days when I just needed someone to say that everything was going to be all right and the women here did just that. I have more confidence now in my ability to school my children because of this board. I love the sharing of ideas and curriculum discussions and I especially love the weekly round-up -- it's the only time I'm able to share with anyone what and how my children are doing in school.
