    Ingredients

    4 ounces (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature 1 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar 6 ounces dark rum
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 3 cups apple cider, brought to a simmer

      Using a rubber spatula, thoroughly mix butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger until smooth and well combined.

      Place about 2 tablespoons of butter mixture in the bottom of each heatproof glass. Top with 1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) of dark rum and 3/4 cup hot cider. Stir and serve hot.
