Starring in: Captain America: The First Avenger (out July 22)
Everyman Chris Evans, whom you’ve loved in sometimes forgettable films like Cellular, The Fantastic Four and The Nanny Diaries, finally gets the leading man treatment as an Army reject-turned-action hero in Captain America: The First Avenger. And with his low-key charm, all-American good looks and buff bod, he fits the role perfectly. So how did they turn all that brawn into the scrawny kid you’ll first see in the film? With the magic of movies, they shrank Chris down to size. "It wasn’t that foreign to me, because that’s what I looked like for a big chunk of my life," he told USA Weekend. "When I saw it, I was like, 'My family’s gonna die.' This is what I looked like for all of middle school. I was a pretty skinny kid for a long time."
