When: Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC; premiering April 26 at 9 p.m. ET. After two airings, it moves to its regular timeslot on May 10
What It's About: Like American Idol, The Voice features a nationwide audition process and a singing competition to find America's next great vocal talent. Unlike Idol, it foregoes judges for an all-star panel of musician coaches, including Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and country singer Blake Shelton. Another twist: Xtina and company will choose the finalists blindly, while their backs are to the stage.
Why You Should Check It Out:The Voice is a spin-off of The Voice of Holland, a proven hit in Europe. Guess what other show was based on a hit vocal competition in Europe? That would be American Idol, which spun off of the British series Pop Idol.
