chime in nowDid you know Hugh Laurie's Gregory House is based on a real-life doctor? It's true, though we're sure the real-world medical whiz can't touch his TV counterpart when it comes to crankiness. Between his arrogance and his general grumpiness, Dr. House can be insufferable, but he's redeemed by his incredible diagnostic skills and commitment to his patients -- even the weirdest, most baffling cases. He's also a tough coworker, as his fellow Princeton-Plainsboro hospital staffers have experienced time and again. But they know there's no better teacher than House, as the Fox series' focus on the medical issues has made for great stories, while the staffers’ personal lives have unfolded slowly over the seasons.
