Source your flowers and fillers from different locations. Check out grocery stores for common varieties like stock, roses and local, in-season flowers. Neighborhood florists are great for finding more unusual flowers like orchids, poppies and off-season varieties such as wild greens and peonies. Don’t be afraid to dig into the herb garden, too. Herbs such as mint, oregano and thyme make wonderful, fragrant additions. In this arrangement, we used arabicum (Star-of-Bethlehem), hypericum berries, small purple grapes, purple calla lilies, lavender roses, oregano, dill and ornamental cabbage.
