How to change your baby's diaper: Cloth diapers

You're Almost Done:

  • If your baby had a bowel movement, dump into toilet. Put the used diaper in your diaper pail.
  • Don't forget to wash your hands!
  • Enjoy diaper-changing time. It's a special chance for you to talk with your baby.

NOTE: Newborns typically wet at least six to eight diapers a day; Breastfed newborns should be stooling at least twice a day (and may stool following each feeding) while formula fed babies often stool less, though stools should not be hard or dry. If your baby is wetting fewer diapers or not stooling normally, call your baby's health care provider.
