How Clean Is too Clean?

Q: With all the sanitizers and antibiotic soaps on the market, are we shielding ourselves and our children from germs that could help build our bodies’ natural defenses against H1N1?

Dr. Tanya: In small doses, germs help build immunity. But a direct inoculation of flu virus from one’s hands to one’s face does more than build immunity. It virtually guarantees infection. Also remember that you still have plenty of exposure to germs even if you wash your hands regularly.
