VIDEO: How Dakota Fanning Goes from "Normal" Teen to Evil Vamp

The Eclipse star explains how she morphs into her blood-sucking character and how she balances high school with Hollywood

Dakota Fanning was a Hollywood star even before joining the wildly popular Twilight franchise. So it's surprising to hear that the 16-year-old actress -- who appears in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse -- considers herself to be just a regular high school student.

"I go to a normal school, I have such a normal life," the actress tells iVillage exclusively. "When I'm not working, it's just your average life."

But when she is working, the teenager turns into Jane -- a member of the Volturi clan with a special talent for inflicting pain. So how does she go from high school cheerleader to evil vampire? Fanning says it's all about the red contact lenses she wears in the films. "They really transform you, and made me not feel like myself anymore," she says. "They made me feel very otherworldly and did most of the work for me.

Watch our exclusive video to hear how Fanning and fellow dark-side vamps Bryce Dallas Howard (Victoria) and Xavier Samuel (Riley) prepared for their blood-sucking roles and find out what surprised Fanning and Kristen Stewart about their girl-on-girl kiss in The Runaways.
