Question
A Thinker asked:
There's an old saying: "The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." Does this actually work? I'm still devastated about breaking up with my long-term boyfriend, but my friends are encouraging me to randomly hook up with a guy.

A Mr. Nice Guy answered:
My college sweetheart ripped out my heart and stabbed it with stilettos when she left. A friend soon set me up with a hot woman and the sex definitely helped. But like a three-day beer binge (I had plenty of those too), the "high" soon wore off and I found myself right back where I started.

So, to answer your question: sex might take the sting out of the bite, but you still have to take some time to heal.

A Life of the Party answered:
Sorry, hon, but this is only true for men. Since guys don't necessarily need emotional intimacy to enjoy sex, sleeping with a random woman can be a great relief for our bruised ego. In my experience, though, women need an emotional connection -- so sleeping with a random guy would just bum you out.

I'd recommend that you keep your clothes on -- just make sure some tissues and ice cream are nearby
