Admit it, you (or at least your boyfriend) tuned in to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last night. (It landed its highest ratings since 2003!) And while the $2 million bra worn by hot mama Adriana Lima may have nabbed the spotlight, I think the best supporting role really went to the supermodels' luxurious locks.
With the help of Sally Hershberger Downtown stylist Rebekah Forecast, you can score the same angelic bombshell hair -- and have all eyes gazing above your shoulders. The mane maven works with the Victoria's Secret models on their photo shoots, so she knows how to turn up the volume. Here, she explains how to create their coveted look:
In the morning, shampoo and condition your hair, and either roughly blow dry or let your hair air dry. Flip your head over, gathering your hair high on top. Then twist it around to create a top knot and secure with pins. This will help create extra volume during the day.
At the end of the day, take your hair down and shake out. Apply a firm volumizer, focusing on the roots only. Rebekah recommends Sally Hershberger Supreme Lift ($12.50). Next, roughly blow dry your hair with your head flipped over to create maximum root lift. Then, apply a dry shampoo, such as Orlando Pita Refresh Dry Shampoo ($25 at Sephora), throughout your locks.
Separate hair into 4 sections (2 in front and 2 in the back). With a large 1 1/2" curling iron, curl one section at a time, making sure the barrel of the iron is held vertically. Start from the root (but at a safe distance from your head!) and twirl the hair around the iron, curling away from your face. Leave the ends out of the iron for a natural, modern look. Once you have curled each section, gently run your fingertips through your hair and finish with hairspray.
For truly showstopping strands, Rebekah suggests grabbing some clip-in extensions (it's one of her photo shoot secrets), which can be cut and colored to match your tresses.
