How Healthy Are Women in Connecticut?

Why are women in Connecticut smiling? They’re showing off their pearly whites -- they go to the dentist more than women anywhere else in the country. Other reasons to be happy: high rates of health insurance coverage, and a low number of gun deaths.

The bad news: Connecticut has among the highest rates of ovarian cancer and breast cancer in the country. Maybe the high rate of screenings explains the fact that more women are being diagnosed and treated.

See where Connecticut ranks on the health issues below. Remember, #1 is healthiest; #50 is least healthy.
