How Healthy Are Women in Hawaii?

Is it really a surprise that women live longer, happier and thinner lives in Hawaii? Living to an average age of nearly 85, Hawaiian women are also among the least depressed and have some of the healthiest hearts in the nation. In the Aloha State a high number of women have health insurance and a low percentage of females smoke. Guess their low rate of lung cancer sounds logical.

It’s not all good news, though: 11 percent of women report tossing back four or more drinks in one sitting, which is three more than is recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

See where Hawaii ranks on the health issues below. Remember: #1 is the healthiest; #50 is the least healthy.
