How Healthy Are Women in Iowa?

Iowa may be known for its agriculture, but ladies here aren’t taking advantage of all that fresh produce. Their diet, lacking in fruits and veggies, is actually one of the worst in America. That said, it’s cancer -- America’s #2 killer -- that hits Iowa hardest. Rates of colon, ovarian and skin cancer are among the highest in the nation.

As for dental health, Iowa women certainly shine: when it comes to that yearly visit to the dentist, four out of five Iowa women are showing up. And the Hawkeyes can breathe easy, knowing that their rate of asthma is among the lowest in the country.

See where Iowa ranks on the health issues below. Remember, #1 is healthiest; #50 is least healthy.
