How Healthy Are Women in Kansas?

Women in Alabama are more likely than most to be overweight and obese, or to have diabetes and high blood pressure. Only Mississippi has a higher percentage of women who are overweight or obese. Add a poor diet and lack of exercise, and Alabama also ranks among the worst in life expectancy -- three years younger than the national average of 81.

It’s not all bad news, though. At least we know that Alabama’s women aren’t getting their calories at the bar. Y’all don’t like to binge drink, which is definitely a healthy practice to keep!

See where Alabama ranks on the health issues below. Remember, #1 is healthiest; #50 is least healthy.
