How Healthy Are Women in Maryland?

Maryland women are doing a solid job at scheduling regular Pap smears and mammograms. And best of all, we can see the results: since the Pap can catch HPV before it leads to cancer, it may be that these screenings are what’s keeping Maryland’s incidence of cervical cancer low.

The bad news: 59 percent of women here are overweight or obese and are less active than women in most other states.
