How Healthy Are Women in Michigan

Heart disease rates are high in Michigan, where 3.9 percent of women have received this diagnosis. That’s more than twice the rate seen in Utah, which has the country’s lowest rate of heart disease. Waistlines could be factoring into this: 61.4 percent of Michigan women are overweight or obese.

Shocking fact: Despite the fact that Flint and Detroit top the most dangerous cities in America every year, Michigan ranks only 10th for female deaths by gun shot.
