How Healthy Are Women in Mississippi

Mississippi has the highest rate of diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol and high blood pressure in the country. No wonder women here have some of the lowest life expectancy rates in the nation. Maybe things wouldn’t look so grim if women here ate more fruits and vegetables and worked out more.

There is a bright side: At least Mississippi women aren’t drinking the pain away, and appear to be remembering to slather on the sunscreen when sunbathing. But overall, Mississippi women have a ways to go to improving their overall health.
