How Healthy Are Women in Montana?

When it comes to nutrition, Montana is doing something right. Women here have among the lowest rates of diabetes, obesity and heart disease -- all conditions impacted by diet.

Where does the state need to up its game? Doctor’s checkups. Just over 67 percent of women over 40 have been screened for breast cancer in the last two years and 62 percent visit the dentist annually, ranking Montana women near the bottom two for these checkups.
