How Healthy Are Women in Washington?

Though the average life expectancy for women in Washington is 81.7 years old, breast and ovarian cancer rates are among the nation’s highest. And one in four women have sought treatment for depression.

But women in the Evergreen State are doing well on tackling other important health issues: They rank in the top 15 states for physical activity, and low rates of diabetes, heart disease and obesity. Only 16.2 percent of women smoke, which is lower than the national average of 18.8 percent.

See where Washington ranks on the health issues below. Remember, #1 is healthiest; #50 is least healthy.
