CBS
Boy, Future Ted (Bob Saget) is one long-winded guy. His detailed description of How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 PM ET) has reached its 100th episode. And young Ted (Josh Radnor) still hasn't met her!
Maybe Future Ted is a lot like Michael Scott (Steve Carell) of The Office, who also tells stories that go on... and on... and on. He gets away with it because he's the boss. Of course, HIMYM's hero gets away with it because the tantalizing tangents about Marshall (Jason Segel), Lily (Alyson Hannigan), Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) are what this show is really about.
In this milestone episode, Ted's story line involves guest Rachel Bilson. But the episode focuses more on Barney and the hot bartender who delivers the lady-killer an ultimatum: Lose the stuffy suits, or lose her. His sartorial preference wins the day -- but not without reasoned consideration, via a full-scale musical number including 75 dancers.
It's just another silly moment that likely has no bearing on Ted's baby mama's identity.
Presumably, once Ted meets her, the show's premise is weakened, if not lost. So presumably, that won't happen any time soon. Surely Future Ted has many more extraneous details to entertain us with!
On 'How I Met Your Mother,' do you think Rachel Bilson might be The Mother? Chime in below!
