How important is a play group?
How important is a play group for my son? He is almost two-years-old and does not interact with children his age on a regular basis.Question:
A play group for your son would be fun, but is not at all necessary. A child younger than three does not need to interact with other children, because he is still working on individual issues, such as understanding that he is a separate being from his mother. He is still primarily interested in exploring the world around him and trying to make sense of it. A group of pots and pans can be as interesting as another child at this age, and probably a lot less frustrating!
As your child grows older, it will be good for him to have playmates. But it isn't important until the child reaches three. And many children do just fine without organized groups until four or five. So don't worry!Answer:
