Now that Jennifer Garner's pregnancy news has been confirmed, the actress no longer has to resort to camouflaging techniques to fool the papparazzi. As any experienced mom-to-be knows, you tend to start showing earlier with pregnancy number two (or three, in Garner's case.) In Hollywood, where barely-there bloating can set off pregnancy rumors, that means celebs who aren't ready for a Beyoncé-style reveal need some bump-hiding tricks.
So how did Jennifer do it? Recent pics show several of the actress' concealment methods: The tried-and-true "bag over the bump" trick; the "coffee-and-kid" carry; and the "holding a big bouquet of flowers" fooler.
I know lots of moms who've used those cover-it-up distraction methods. "With my second, I started showing at about 7 weeks," says Lisa. "To hide my bump, I would carry around a file folder with me at work wherever I went. So if I had to stop to talk to someone, I could hold it in front of my belly!"
Others -- like me -- use clothing like big, heavy sweaters and long scarves as a distraction. When I was newly pregnant with baby number two last winter, I kept my bulky winter coat buttoned at all times -- a method that definitely helped me avoid knowing looks and "are you...?" questions at my son's preschool drop-off.
