How to Make a Jumpin' Jack Puppet

Ages: 3-5, 6-8
Location: Indoors

What you'll need:
Tracing paper
Poster board
4 brass paper fasteners
Scraps of colored paper, yarn, fabric
String
Plastic curtain ring (or any small ring)

Background:
Kids will be amazed to watch this puppet come to life

Setting up:
Trace the patterns and cut them out.

Outline the body, two arms and two legs on the poster board. Cut out all the parts. Punch holes where indicated.

Add clothing, hair, eyes and other details with the scraps of paper, yarn and fabric.

Fasten the arms and legs loosely to the body with the brass paper fasteners.

Cut an 18 inch length of string. Thread it through the remaining holes as shown. Tie on the plastic ring as a handle.

What to do:
Pull down on the ring at the back to operate the puppet. The puppet's arms and legs will fly up
