Britney Spears Announces Vegas Show, Where She'll Make HOW MUCH Per Minute?!

After months of speculation, the pop star confirmed a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood, where she will take home one serious salary

Britney Spears is ready for her close-up! The pop star has been building anticipation for months, and this week, we have three big reveals: the release date for her upcoming album (Dec. 3), the first single ("Work B**ch") and the official announcement of her 2-year Vegas residency. And what an announcement it was!

Those who tuned into Good Morning America early this morning watched live as Spears, 31, arrived by helicopter to the Mojave desert, where more than 1,000 fans surprised her by holding up pieces of a gigantic Britney portrait. Those of us you who slept in can watch her reaction below!

"This is such a sweet thing to do!" Spears said while still in the helicopter. "I don't even know what to say. I'm speechless. This is shocking."

Spears has been teasing the Vegas announcement since August, with that mysterious countdown clock on her website. On GMA, the singer confirmed that she had signed a two-year contract for 50 shows at Planet Hollywood. Ticket prices for "Britney: Piece of Me" will range from $59 to $179, and according to TMZ, Spears will be paid $310,000 per show. That's nearly $3,500 per minute for a 90-minute performance. It adds up to almost $15 million a year.

Which brings us to the title of her new single! "Work B**ch" was actually set to debut on Monday, but that plan was foiled when a low-quality version leaked on Sunday. (That kind of thing seems to be happening a lot these days.) Britney expressed her displeasure on Twitter...

...as did her manager...

... but nonetheless, the song's official release date was quickly bumped up.

Watch the premiere video below! And by "watch," we mean "listen while looking at a picture of Britney's cleavage."

Tickets go on sale for Britney's Vegas show Sept. 20, with a presale starting today. Planning a trip to Nevada? Get the info here.
