How to Save at Target

Target offers the REDcard debit or credit card, which gives shoppers 5 percent off most purchases, including the pharmacy, plus free shipping with no minimum purchase when you shop online, says Novickis.

Often Target will offer a discount on an item and provide a gift card for a future purchase. The larger the base price of the item, the higher the gift card value. As an example, if shoppers bought the Xbox Kinect Bundle for $299.99 during Black Friday week, they earned a $50 gift card. Target frequently has these types of offers on toiletries, baby products, household goods, and food.

A few more ways to save: Target frequently prints out offers on store receipts, with deals like $7 off a $70 purchase, which usually expire one to two months after the receipt date. Sign up for Target's mobile text alerts to receive paperless coupons right to your phone for instant redemption at checkout.

Target also offers free shipping on orders of $50 or more, and you can find other coupon codes to stack on top of the free shipping deal. For instance, CouponSherpa.com offers a Target coupon code for $5 off $50.
