Choose a level plot that has had no synthetic chemicals -- no pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or nonorganic compost -- on it for three years, says Robert McLaughlin, CEO of Organic Bouquet, a mission-based flower company focused on environmental, social and economic sustainability.
