How to Transition Your Floral Dresses into Fall

With some simple layering these summertime staples can be worn all year round

This summer, I practically lived in flowery sundresses. The bright, light colors paired with airy fabric and skinny straps were beyond perfect for the overly warm weather we were having.

Of course, it's those same details that make these summertime must-haves less wearable when the temperature starts to drop. But there's no need to relegate these pieces to just your closet (especially when we want to get as much bang for our buck as possible). All you have to do is layer a piece like this Impressionist Dress ($62 at Need Supply) with a simple cardigan or vest. We like the AE Drapey Vest ($39.50 at American Eagle Outfitters) or the AE Pointelle Cardigan ($39.50 at American Eagle Outfitters). Keep the top layer in neutral tones of grey, brown or cream, and if you're feeling fancy add a belt to the mix too.

When winter hits, just add some wooly tights and booties, and you'll be good to go. We love when pieces last all year round!
