Hugh Grant Opens Up About Fatherhood and Finally Reveals His Daughter's Name

The handsome Brit says he's "thrilled" with his five-month-old daughter and his plans to be a strict parent

At long last, we've found out the name of Hugh Grant's daughter! The lucky little Brit is named Tabitha, the Did You Hear About the Morgans? star revealed in a recent interview.

The 51-year-old actor finally gushed about his daughter, who was born in October, in the new issue of The Guardian's weekend magazine. Tabitha's mother, former model Tinglan Hong, was someone Grant was involved with in a "fleeting affair," but fortunately he's committed to taking care of their new baby.

"Lots of people warned me that the baby period is not that exciting. But I am excited, actually," Grant says. "I thought, well, I'll bluff through -- but very little bluffing has been required."

Tabitha mostly stays with her mother, but Grant says he is working on learning Chinese to help her become bilingual. And that's just one of the many ways the little tyke is slowly but steadily impacting Grant's life.

"I like my daughter very much," the Notting Hill star says. "Has she changed my life? I'm not sure. Not yet. Not massively, no. But I'm absolutely thrilled to have had her -- I really am. And I feel a better person."

Just don't expect him to be one of those parents who spoil their first child.

"There are few things in life I believe in 100 percent, but one is not giving your children money," Grant says. "I see nothing but f-ck-ups among my trust fund friends. It's like 99 percent f-ck-ups. So I would not want to do that to my children, no."

And it sounds like Grant has spent a lot of time thinking about how he wants to raise his daughter. Though he might play a nice guy in a lot of his movies, Grant is planning on being a strict father.

"There's a lot of over-parenting, to my eye, anyway. I do think discipline's important," he says. "I'm very glad that I had quite a strict mother who was big on discipline, because you really cannot get anything done in life if there's too much, 'Oh, well, if you don't feel like it, don't do it, just express yourself,' I'm not really very big on that."
