In paparazzi shots with his kids, Hugh Jackman is always splashing in the waves, starting snowball fights or engaging in some other fun-filled activity. But while he certainly looks like a playful parent, the actor insists he's not always so laid-back.
"I'm the strict guy in my house. I'm bad cop," says the 44-year-old actor, who has two kids (Oscar, 12, and Ava, 7) with wife Deborra-Lee Furness. "Of course, you gotta muck around and play. But I'm usually the one who says, 'Clean your room, do this...' If you ask my kids, they'll be like, 'My dad? He's a bit strict.'"
Jackman also opened up to iVillage about the extreme physical transformation he had to go through to play a slave in Les Miserables (in theaters Dec. 25).
"It was brutal. I don't want to go through that again, but I'm glad I did it for this," he says. "My wife thought I looked like hell. But I kept saying, 'Good, that's great!'"
