It turns out Hulk Hogan has one tough opponent in ex-wife Linda Bollea. The professional wrestling icon has not only filed court papers suing Bollea -- for claiming he brutally abused her and also had a gay affair with another wrestler while they were married -- but he's also gone on record explaining his decision.
"After the four-year crazy divorce I thought I'd heard everything I could hear in the courtroom," 58-year-old Hogan (whose real name is Terry Bollea) told Us Weekly on Dec. 10. "Then, all of a sudden she says I abused her, that I was violent. She told everybody that I was a homosexual."
The former Mrs. Hogan, 52, made the potentially libelous allegations in her memoir Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes (which hit bookstores in June) and numerous interviews promoting the new book.
As for the shocking claim that Hogan had a sexual relationship with fellow wrestler Brutus Beefcake, Hogan thinks it's preposterous.
"If any of that was true, I would admit it, and if I was a homosexual I would embrace it," Hogan insists. "It's just so crazy to hear, so I have a real problem with it... If you're going to say I'm something that I'm not to try to ruin my career and my livelihood... I have to answer her back."
The Bolleas were married for more than 24 years and had two children together: daughter Brooke, 23, and son Nick, 21. Linda filed for divorce in 2007, and Hogan says he just doesn't understand her behavior.
"It's so ridiculous," he said. "I don't mean to laugh about it, because it's not funny. But it's insane. It doesn't make any sense to me."
On the bright side, Hogan is happily remarried to Jennifer McDaniel, whom he wed almost exactly one year ago on Dec. 14, 2010.
"I've moved on with my life, things are great again," he raved. "I know what it's like to be happy again."
