FIRST LOOK: New 'Hunger Games' Poster -- What Do You Think?

A Hunger Games superfan put together all 100 of the poster puzzle pieces released Thursday to form the dazzling image above

Never try to say that Lionsgate isn't creative when it comes to promoting their upcoming films. Yesterday the movie studio sent out 100 puzzle pieces (one of went to iVillage!) that together would create the new poster for The Hunger Games. It didn't take very long for Hunger Games fan John Howard to compile all the pieces and put them together to create the full poster (available above for your viewing pleasure).

The iVillage jigsaw piece was a pretty pivotal part of the puzzle: It showed the back of leading lady Katniss Everdeen's (Jennifer Lawrence) head as she stared at her image and that of fellow District 12 tribute Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) being broadcast over huge screens to the Capitol audience. Holding her trusty bow and arrow and with the flaming Mockingjay symbol hovering in the air before her, Katniss seems ready for the Games to begin. We know we certainly are.

And, luckily, the premiere of The Hunger Games is now less than 100 days away. Also starring Liam Hemsworth as Gale, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, the film set in a dystopian future where America has been renamed Panem and is ruled over from the Capitol by a brutal authoritarian government. The story follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who offers herself in the place of her sister to compete in the Hunger Games, an annual event in which two children from each of 12 districts are forced to battle to the death on live TV -- a tool used by the government to keep Panem's populace firmly under heel. The Hunger Games begin in theaters everywhere March 23.
