Jennifer Lawrence nabbed the role of heroine Katniss Everdeen after wowing audiences and directors alike with her Oscar-nominated turn in last year's indie hit Winter's Bone. The 21-year-old reportedly worked out like a beast and honed her archery skills to play Katniss, who -- in the post-apocalyptic world in which author Suzanne Collins' book trilogy takes place -- represents District 12 in the titular Hunger Games, where children from each of the 12 districts of Panem (a.k.a. North America) are forced to battle to the death on live TV. Kind of makes Survivor sound boring.
