"I Like You. Here's a Silly Band"

The jelly bracelets become pick-up gimmicks

Like Justin Beiber, it appears Silly Bandz aren't going anywhere. And now they're making an appearance on the dating scene. According to The New York Daily News, single ladies in Big Apple bars are handing out the stretchy accessories to fellas who pique their interest. (Beyonce remix, anyone?) The women say it's an "easy way to hit on a guy without being too aggressive."

But if we're always complaining that men like to play games, then why are we turning drinks night into grade-school recess time? I'm not saying fun is against the rules, especially when it comes to flirting, but I hope this phase of the jelly bracelet fad loses its grip. Because I doubt a piece of plastic on his wrist is going to produce a ring on anyone's finger, unless, of course, it's a Ring Pop.
