Though Glee fans may be in mourning, now that the show's fall finale aired last night and it won't be returning until, gasp!, April, there may be plenty look to forward to.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Broadway star Idina Menzel is in negotiations to snag a part on FOX's hit show when it returns this spring. The former "Wicked" star is set to recur on the remaining nine episodes of the show, where she'll play the coach to glee club Vocal Adrenaline, the McKinley High glee club's main competition.
Fans of Menzel and the show have been hoping Idina would make an appearance, noting the staggering resemblance between the actress and Glee star Lea Michele. Though it doesn't look like Idina will play a relative of Michele's character, as enthusiasts had their hearts set on, the Gleeks of the world will have to be satisfied with the two Broadway babes sharing the screen.
It seems that Broadway stars are being drawn to music-filled Glee, as Idina's "Wicked" costar, Kristin Chenoweth, also showed off her pipes earlier this year, while Lea's "Spring Awakening" costar, Jonathan Groff, will be doing a five- to six-episode story arc, playing the lead male vocalist of Vocal Adrenaline and a potential love interest for Rachel.
