Those American Idol fans who were crying when Pia Toscano was voted off, with nine contestants still remaining in the competition, can dry their eyes. Toscano is doing just fine --- and has officially signed a record deal with Interscope records.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the 22-year-old's debut album will come out later this year, and her first single, “This Time” will drop July 12. The single is an acoustic track written by Ester Dean, and Toscano will be performing it while on tour with the other finalists this summer.

Immediately after Toscano was sent home from Idol in April, rumors sprouted up that she was rushed into the studio by record execs wanting to cash in on her popularity. Now it seems as if the talk was true.

Interscope's main man Jimmy Iovine, who mentored the kids on Idol's tenth season, obviously knows talent when he sees it. And, though Toscano may have gotten cheated out of the Idol title, we have a feeling she's about to become a star on her own.
