If You Have: Fever, Pain When You Pee, Blood in Your Urine, Pain After Sex, Especially If You've Used a Condom or a Diaphragm...

You might have: a urinary tract infection (UTI). E. Coli is the most common bacterium for UTIs. If you also have pain on one side, the infection may have spread to your kidneys, which can potentially cause a life-threatening condition called pyelonephritis.
Diagnostic tests: a urine sample to detect bacteria that would indicate a UTI and/or kidney infection
Treatment: oral antibiotics
