What to Expect: A former NFL cheerleader turned celebrity trainer (Halle Berry, Jessica Alba) presents a 12-week workout plan for the rest of us. It’s intended to be done in three phases, each one building in duration and intensity. Phase one is a 25-minute routine focusing on core muscles; phase two bumps up the cardio with a 45-minute workout; and phase three challenges with intense strength-training moves. All routines are a mix of cardio, core and circuit training, but none have cool downs. (Stretches were done at the beginning.)
What You’ll Need: 3- and 7-lb. dumbbells, 5-lb. ankle weights and pillows for propping up the upper body.
Why You'll Love It: Braganza's challenging circuits and core exercises speed results, while cardio segments provide cross-training relief. Braganza leads the cardio kick-boxing segment and guest choreographers show off some easy-to-learn, fun-to-try hip hop and belly dance sequences.
Watch Out For: Product placement. Vitamin Water is obnoxiously present in every shot—and Braganza and friends are all shown drinking their water while talking about the importance of hydration. Also beware of the fast pacing of this DVD: there’s not much time to get up from working the core on the floor to standing circuits.
Best For: Intermediate to advanced exercisers.
