Instant Heart Cookies

Skip the whipping, the mixing and all the baking, and create a cookie that will be loved just as much as those you make from scratch.


  • 1 package soft-baked sugar cookies (8 in a package)
  • 1 cup Nutella (hazelnut-chocolate spread)
  • 1/2 cup red nonpareils (divided in 4)
  • 1-inch heart cookie cutter



Place 8 cookies on a cutting board. Using the cookie cutter, cut heart shapes out of the center of 4 of the cookies and set aside.

Spread Nutella evenly over the back side of the 4 remaining cookies. Sandwich with the heart cutout cookies.

Sprinkle the center of the cookies with red nonpareils (use a teaspoon to gently push the nonpareils into the hazelnut filling).

Place the cookies in a cellophane bag and tie with a bow.
