VIDEO: Chris Pine: Being a Hearthrob Makes Me Very Self-Conscious

The Unstoppable action star admits it's funny as a former "oddball" to get attention for his looks

Ever since Chris Pine starred as Captain Kirk in 2009's Star Trek, female fans have been swooning over him. So, how does the self-proclaimed "oddball" feel about his new heartthrob status? "It makes me very self-conscious," Pine confesses to iVillage exclusively. "It's quite fun and quite strange and I'll enjoy it for as long as it lasts. But I realize there will be plenty more guys coming up and taking that spot soon."

And while the 30-year-old single actor -- who costars with Denzel Washington in the new runaway train movie Unstoppable (in theaters Nov. 12) -- can still claim that title, he'll continue to make his career his top priority. "My preference would be to put (plans for a family) off a little longer," he says. "I always catch myself if I complain that I'm working too long, I have to remind myself most people actually work all year."

Watch our exclusive video (above) to find out about the risky business of making Unstoppable and and how Pine celebrated his 30th birthday.
