iPotty Lets Your Toddler Play With the iPad While Pooping (Because That's Important)

What do you get the toddler who's outgrown his hipster "iPood" onesie? An iPotty, of course.

Yes, you read that correctly. At this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, CTA Digital displayed its newest offering for the plugged-in potty trainer: The iPotty for iPad, which, according to CNET, is essentially a $40 plastic toilet that's been souped up with a holder (complete with splash guard) for Mom's or Dad's iPad.

The potty is reportedly going to be available in March, but this is one item I won't be buying for my 18-month-old son. Forget about the fact that I don't actually even own an iPad; if I did, I wouldn't want it anywhere near a toilet-training toddler. (Let's remember why they're in the bathroom in the first place, folks.)

Besides, there's already one guy in my house who spends way too much time in the bathroom staring at the screen of an electronic gadget. I don't need to encourage the habit in another one. In my bathroom, for my kids, there's potty time, and there are tech tools, and never the two shall meet... until there's a gadget that can actually help my little guy wipe himself.
