You Won't Dread Listening to This Version of the "Friends" Theme Song

This song is synonymous with the '90s ... and until now, that wasn't necessarily a good thing

When you hear the first strands of “I’ll Be There for You,” the infamous theme song from “Friends,” you’re likely to be transported in a time warp straight to the ’90s. Visions of Jennifer Aniston’s shag haircut and Central Perk mix with echoes of Joey’s catch phrase “How you doin’?”

Needless to say, the nostalgia isn’t always so pleasant. But all that is about to change when you listen to this super touching, surprisingly beautiful rendition of the song, covered by three Irish guys sitting at a piano. Suddenly, you remember, you used to kind of like “I’ll Be There for You” – before it bore a hole into your head that lasted for a full decade (and beyond.)

Take a listen for yourself, and remember why The Rembrandts were actually pretty awesome.
