What Is It with Isabella Rossellini and Animal Sex?

Lots of actors have gone into TV production, from Mark Wahlberg (Entourage) to Lisa Kudrow (Who Do You Think You Are?). Still, Isabella Rossellini stands out as the only famous actress ever to produce, direct and star in a show about animal sex. And now she's about to do it again!

Rossellini's irreverent nature show Green Porno aired for three seasons on The Sundance Channel. The two-minute episodes feature Rossellini acting out the mating ritual of a given fish or insect -- say, a preying mantis, an anchovy or a worm -- while wearing a low-budget papier-mache costume. It was kind of like National Geographic meets Cinemax, with a little Saturday Night Live thrown in the mix. It was also a whole lot of fun: The sight of the classy Italian actress, still gorgeous at 57, humping a cardboard bee would reduce anybody to giggles.

With her new web series Seduce Me, Rossellini will be expanding her animal-sex repertoire even further. According to the Sundance Channel Web site, Seduce Me will "concentrate on the courting rituals of nature's quirkiest," including bats, ducks, snakes and bed bugs. So basically, it's Green Porno, but even wilder -- and with a title that can be safely advertised on the side of a bus.

Why animal sex? Rossellini has said that she loves educating, making people laugh and spreading an environmental message. Sure, it's a weird niche, but it's all hers! The new series airs on April 20 at SundanceChannel.com. And if you haven't seen Green Porno yet, watch the (kinda not safe for work) housefly episode below!
