Is it safe to microwave baby food?

I was told that if you microwave baby food, you will take out the nutrients that the baby needs to be healthy. Is this true?

No, this is not true. Cooking any food, no matter what the method, will destroy some nutrients; however, microwaving is one of the best methods for retaining nutrients when heating food. Because it takes less time to microwave baby foods, there is less time for nutrient destruction. Just be very careful to stir the baby food after microwave use -- and test it carefully -- to prevent hot pockets from burning a baby's sensitive mouth or tongue.
