Item We're Craving: Camel Ballet Flats

Buy this shoe now, and it can easily transition into your spring wardrobe

The fashion gods were smiling on us when they kept ballet flats around -- for years now -- as a definite fashion Do. With all the adorable shoes out there that are also impractical or even downright painful, I'm grateful that ballet flats, which are as comfy as they are cute, are still up-to-date and on-trend.

In fact, the other day I fell in love at first sight with these Tory Burch Eddie Flats (pictured, $178 at Tory Burch) in a buttery camel color. These luxurious flats have a classic and demure style and shape, while the warm, neutral tone is such a refreshing change from basic black. Not only is this shoe is wearable now (well, indoors at least!), but I see the camel shade transitioning perfectly into my spring wardrobe.

If you can't afford to splurge and spend nearly $200 on ballet flats, I totally feel your pain. To help all of us out, I did a little detective work and found many affordable versions of camel ballet flats. Here are a few of the best:

The Bloch Ballet Flat in camel is a bit more wallet friendly ($98 at As a former dancer, I can vouch for Bloch shoes being super-comfortable and well made.

I also love the contrast heel and toe on these Cap Toe Ballet Flats ($49.50 at Gap). Very Chanel-looking!

The Vibrant Camel Washed Effect Ballet Pumps ($32 at Topshop) have a relaxed, casual feel.

This supersoft Carriger ($40 at Aldo Shoes) has pleating in the shape of a bow on the toe – how cute!

And my favorite of the bunch, the Bella Vita Women's Meadow Skimmer in Narcissus Skimmer ($43.97 at, features metallic trim and pretty pintucking.

So, what do you think? Would you say the Tory Burch pair are worth the splurge, or should I go for one of the more wallet-friendly alternatives? I'm all ears!

Would you splurge on pricey ballet flats, or stick with a more affordable version? Chime in!
