Glee is going giddy with guest stars this spring, from Neil Patrick Harris to Jennifer Lopez. Now here's another: Saturday Night Live veteran Molly Shannon will play the new enemy of scheming cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, played by Jane Lynch.
Until now, the ruthlessly competitive Sue has saved most of her evil schemes for Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), the glee club coach who's been stealing her "Cheerios"' thunder. But now Shannon -- playing a "busty new astronomy teacher and badminton coach" named Brenda Castle -- will provide a new target. According to the Ausiello Files, Castle will be a pill-popper and an alcoholic... so we can only imagine what she'll do to get on Sue's bad side!
Shannon, who's signed on for multiple episodes, has a proven track record as a scene-stealer, with recurring roles on shows like Will and Grace and Sex and the City. The height discrepancy alone (Shannon is 5'5", Lynch is 6'0") will be hilarious as the two go head-to-head. As Sue might say: You think doing Glee is hard? Try stealing scenes from Molly Shannon -- that's hard!
