iVillage Woman of the Week: Music's Leading Ladies

Each week we pick one woman who's done something to make us proud. Well, this week we're bending the rules a bit to allow for a four-way tie between music's reigning female vocalists.

The fact that two female songstresses hold the top spots for the most Grammy nominations this year speaks volumes for women in music. Beyonce leads the pack with 10 nods and country sweetheart Taylor Swift follows closely with eight. Not far behind are Lady Gaga and Fergie and her Black Eyed Peas, with five and six nods, respectively.

There's no denying that these female powerhouses have secured their places at the top of the music industry. At 19, Taylor has already dominated the Country Music Awards and the American Music Awards. Despite personal drama like battling rumors that husband Josh Duhamel cheated on her with a stripper (which he's denied), Fergie stayed on the top of the charts with the Peas. Lady Gaga continues to captivate fans with her provocative live performances and her bizarre fashion choices. And Beyonce's hit "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" is so popular even babies want to dance to it!

The diva showdown may still be two months away, but we're hoping all four will get plenty of love from the recording academy. And whatever happens, it's sure to be a ladies' night.
