In 2002, Ms. Jacobson was honored by the American Cancer Society for her commitment to supporting working women with cancer.
She has served as chairwoman of Women In Need (WIN), a nonprofit charitable organization that provides housing and other vital services to homeless women and their children in New York City. She also spearheaded a major CEW fundraising effort to renovate and maintain one of WIN's principal shelters and continues to play a key role in its success.
As beauty editor of Harper's Bazaar, a position she held for nearly two decades, Ms. Jacobson was recognized as one of the leading authorities on women's concerns in beauty, fitness and health. Prior to joining Bazaar, she was an assistant beauty editor at Seventeen. She started her career in fashion and beauty as a photographer's assistant in Paris.
The author of the book How to Be Wrinkle Free: Look Younger Without Plastic Surgery (G. P. Putnam Sons), Ms. Jacobson has also created publications for leading fashion and beauty companies, including Donna Karan and Chanel.
