Rhoda Joyce Glickman has more than 20 years of extensive experience in government and nonprofit organizations.  From 1994 – 2000, she held senior positions in the Clinton Administration serving as White House Liaison and Deputy Chief of Staff at the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.  From 1981-1993, she was the first and only Executive Director of the Congressional Arts Caucus, a bipartisan, bicameral legislative service organization in the United States Congress with an agenda that dealt with the legislation and policies impacting the arts in America.  Other positions included Public Relations Manager for the White House Conference on Families from 1979-1981;   Newsletter Editor for the Council of Foundations in 1978; and Public Relations Director for Wider Opportunities for Women in 1977.   She also taught junior high English and Social Studies in Maryland from 1966-1969.

 

Ms. Glickman has served on various congressional spouse boards including the Congressional Families for Drug Free Youth and was a co-founder with Tipper Gore of the Congressional and Administration Task Force on Mental House Issues.  She has spoken out on various issues, ranging from women’s health to children’s welfare to expanding educational opportunities for all sectors of the population.  In addition, she has appeared in public service announcements in Kansas, sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters.
